About Fiona

Fiona Hamilton is an artist and printmaker exploring the ecological sublime and an appreciation of the majesty of nature. She uses etching, lithography and natural tones of chine collé to draw the viewer into an ethereal landscape, that has an impact on our sense of place in relation to the natural world.

Fiona’s current body of work is informed by the work of forest ecologist Suzanne Simard, author of ‘Finding the Mother Tree’. Simard explores how trees communicate through mycorrhizal fungi to exchange water, nutrients, and warn of impending danger.

Fiona works from and teaches printmaking processes, including lithography and letterpress, at Spike Print Studio, Bristol. She has an MA in Multi-Disciplinary Printmaking from UWE , Bristol and BA in Graphic Fine Art (Printmaking) from Canterbury.
